NAGPUR: Promising city players Raunak Sadhwani and Divya Deshmukh shared
the lead in their respective groups in the 5th National School Chess
Championship here on Wednesday.
In the U-11 open, Sadhwani, Nikhil Magizhnan and R Abinandhan are in the joint lead with 5 points each at the end of the sixth round. WFM Divya Deshmukh, Femil Chelladurai and Bhagyashree Patil are sharing the lead with 4.5 points each in the U-11 girls section.
Top seed of the U-7 open category, AR Ilamparthi and Advait Patil are in the joint lead with 5.5 points each to their credit. Kush Bhagat is closely following with 5 points in his pocket. In the U-7 girls, Suhani Lohia, Kumbhlkar Anusha, AN Shefali and Sani Deshpande are in the joint lead with 5 points each.
Top seed Dev Shah emerged as the sole leader in the U-9 open group with 5 points. Raahil Mullick and Prraneeth Vuppala are following Dev with 4.5 points each. In the U-9 girls, Prathivya Gupta is leading with 5 points, while Savitha B lying second with 4.5 points.
Anuj Shrivatri and Sankalp Gupta are in the joint lead in the U-13 open, while in the U-13 girls, city's Mrudul Dehankar and D Jishitha sharing the lead with 4.5 points each.
In the U-15 open, P Shet Prajwal is the sole leader with 4.5 points. City lad Devansh Ratti is in the second spot with 4 points. In the U-15 girls, A Harshini and Nagpur's Srishti Pandey are sharing the lead with 4.5 points each.
The 7th, 8th and 9th rounds of the three-day tournament will be played on Thursday at 8 am, 11 am and 2 pm respectively. The prize distribution will be held at 4.30 pm.
