BCCI calls off talks with PCB after Sena protests against India-Pak series

Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary Anurag Thakur on Monday clarified that there will be no meeting between BCCI president Shashank Manohar and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief Shaharyar Khan, putting an end to speculation there the two will hold talks in New Delhi on Tuesday.

"Officially there is no meeting scheduled in New Delhi," Thakur said in the Capital on Monday. "If the talks happen, they will take place in Mumbai at the BCCI headquarters. The BCCI and PCB have some outstanding issues and the PCB chief wanted to meet the BCCI president to discuss those things but those have been cancelled now."
The Board secretary, however, condemned the attack by Shiv Sena activists at the BCCI headquarters here.
"I condemn this attack because you cannot barge into the BCCI office and force cancellation of the talks," he said.
Thakur reiterated that cricketing ties between India and Pakistan can be revived only if conditions between the two countries improve.
"In terms of relations between BCCI and PCB, we had held talks five months earlier and then again. I had made it clear earlier as well that the talks can continue between the Boards, but cricket will only happen when conditions will improve."
ICC withdraws umpire Dar from series
The ICC withdrew Pakistan umpire Aleem Dar from officiating in the remaining two India-South Africa ODI matches in the wake of Shiv Sena attack at the BCCI headquarters. "Under the present circumstances, it will be unreasonable to expect from Aleem that he will be able to perform his duties to the best of his abilities," an ICC spokesman said.
'Pak may refuse to tour India for World T20'
ICC president Zaheer Abbas on Monday said he feared for Pakistan players' security during the World T20 in India next year. "Pakistan and India cricket authorities must work it out, otherwise I fear the Pakistan players could also refuse to tour India for the upcoming World T20 Cup, citing security concerns," Abbas told a news channel.
