Siva, Vellayathevan set new records

                             

Two meet records were set as S. Siva of Loyola College won the men’s pole vault event clearing 4.70m and Vellayathevan, also from Loyola, clocked 1:53.4s to win the men’s 800m gold, on the inaugural day of the Dr. A. Lakshmanaswamy Mudaliar silver jubilee commemoration athletics meet, conducted by the University of Madras for its affiliated colleges, at the Jawaharlal Nehru stadium on Friday.
