Former India coach and South Africa opener Gary Kirsten, who led India to a World Cup victory in 2011, has defended his ward, the Indian skipper MS Dhoni, and has ridiculed the calls to change the team's captain.Dhoni has come under scrutiny after his dismal performances in the recent past. After not being able to do well with the Test team, Dhoni retired from the longer format of the game in December, 2014. After a passable show in the 2015 World Cup, Dhoni and his men lost their first ever series against Bangladesh 1-2 in June this year.
When his team failed to earn a win after playing three matches in the 72-day-long tour, the swords were kept ready. Former players called for a change in the Indian setup.
